Pre-Raphaelites, a group made up of 19th-century English painters, poets, and critics who's work responded towards the practice of Victorian and neoclassical subject mater by developing bright imitations of religious work. More specifically, "and of the most beautiful are the paintings of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and their followers, bright and clear colours, fair women and themes from myths and legends."(Darkamber 1). The groups source of inspiration came from early Renaissance painters and medieval times. This was up until the time of the famous, well known, Raphael. Raphael was an Italian painter who imitated his teachers work so carefully that it was very difficult to decipher the two. His work also entailed architecture as did the Pre-Raphaelites. Another group that influenced the Pre-Raphaelites was the Nazarenes. They were young German artists who attempted to incorporate ideas from medieval Christian religion. "The Nazarene's principles were accuracy, a new look at the medieval past and intensity of feeling, both human literary and religious"(Darkamber 1). They formed a brotherhood in Rome which resembled and helped lead to part of the foundation that the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood was built on. The PRB was started by Dante Gabriel Rossetti in 1848. William Michael Rossetti, John Everett Millais, William Holman Hunt, Frederick George Stephens, James Collinson, and Thomas Woolner were also part of the brotherhood. The group was composed of painters, sculpters, critics and poets. During their time the PRB started to copy significant styles of painting. Art sometimes is looked at being difficult to understand. The Royal Academy, which was founded in 1768, was the identity of British art which used dark melanc... ...e PRB, was still acclaimed for his work as a portrait artist in the years to follow and was made president of the Royal Academy in 1896, the last year of his life (McMullins, "PRB", 8). The Pre-Raphaelites took two forms of art, verbal and visual, used the two together and expressed the beauty in their art more efficiently. The PRB rebelled against the standards set by the contemporaries of the time period. They faced criticism from the Royal Academy, the Public eye, and influential men like Charles Dickens. On the other hand well known art critic John Ruskin defended the PRB’s positive ideas. As for the people of the time, they are today looked back upon as being stuck up and snobbish. Still today the ideas of the Pre-Raphaelites live on. "Thus the Pre-Raphaelites have left few lasting traces on modern thought, literature, art or social organization"(Gaunt 287).

Psychosocial Stage Is the stage that Is based on an organ that gives pleasure during a certain part of development. This organ Is an erogenous zone during that stage of life that can make us feel good. The psychosocial stage has five different stages, namely oral stage, anal stage, phallic stage, latency stage and genital stage. The first stage is oral stage; experiencing this stage makes me feel that my mouth and lips are the center of pleasure.I experienced being fixated, like I was over eating, talking too much and biting sarcasm. The second psychosocial stage is anal stage, which we can experience when we are two to three years of age. We tend to eliminate waste any time and anywhere. This problem can be solve through what we call â€Å"toilet training†. Learning to do so can help Individual to develop pleasure of holding their waste to please their mother's. Some Individual are late bloomers and they tend to learn toilet training until they were five years old.I remember when I was 3 years of age, I am already trained about this â€Å"toilet training† that's why my parents told me one of the unforgettable words I heard, ‘*very good we don't need you to wear diaper an† There are lot of advantages learning toilet training during anal stage, the best of the advantages is the lesser use of diaper. The third stage is phallic stage; this can be experienced when we are around four to six years of age. At this age, we learned the difference between male and female.During phallic stage, male gets Jealous of his ether and feels like wanting to replace him. Male individuals at this age can also feel castration anxiety, the fear of castration meaning being afraid to be circumcised. On the other hand, female Individuals feel Like blaming their mother for not Glenn them pennies Like the male one's have. I experience this blaming thing when I tried to pee like my brother. During phallic stage males excessively concerned being masculine in appear ance and actions while females feels excessive need and demand for equality treatment with men.The fourth stage is the latency stage, latent means hidden. This stage can be experienced when we are six to twelve years old. In this stage, we tend to play music and different Instruments, and play different sports we love. No further psychosocial development takes place during this stage. The fifth and last stage is genital stage, In this stage the focus Is on one's genitalia, their own sex organ as their erogenous zone for pleasure. This can be experienced from thirteen years old onwards; this Is also the stage of being curious about sex.The individual develops a strong sexual rest of a person's life. Studying and experiencing psychosocial stage gives me a lot of knowledge about when and why individual experience these stages during birth up to the present age. Also, studying psychosocial stage gave me more views and helped me answer different questions inside my mind. Most of all, it lessens my curiosity. By studies and experiences I can share different lessons and story with different people, especially the young ones about how each one of us develops as we grow older.

In her book, she tells her tale of her curiosity for eating disorders, especially stories of women affected by them. Beeny Cliff Essay One of the most important devices used in poems could be how each phrase is fitted together. In On Wenlock Edge, caesuras are placed in some significant places. For example, in line three, the phrase the gale, it plies contains one. The caesura in that particular phrase gives a break after the word gale, and also gives an emphasis on the word. Housman intentionally does this to attract more attention on the word gale, as it is what the whole poem is centred on. Caesuras are also used in Beeny Cliff, however, in a slightly different way. An example would be The woman whom I loved so, and who . It is possible that Hardy stressed on the word so, to emphasize how much he loved her. However, Hardy carries on using caesuras in the middle of long phrases. In other words, I think that he only uses them in order to make his lines longer, and stanzas shorter. In the similar way, enjambments and end-stopping are used throughout both poems. In these two poems, Hardy and Housman have a close choice of vocabulary. As the contents of both poems associate the past with the present, they both use several old fashioned language. The words yonder and yeoman, meaning over there, and an ordinary English man, are both old English. In Beeny Cliff, there are words, such as anew, meaning again. Carrying on with the idea of a spell-like poem, Hardy presents syntactic inversions in the similar way. The phrase and there flew an irised rain, when read out, creates an enchanting tone. Also, by making the sentence flow more smoothly, it gives an emphasis on the irised rain, rather than the word, there. Simultaneously, Hardy continues to use syntactic inversions in the poem. I think the strongest example would be the last line of the poem. In the phrase and will laugh there nevermore, the words there and nevermore are switched around to give an emphasis on the last word. Not only emphasising, but the last word of a poem is very significant. He says His forest fleece the Wrekin heaves, meaning the trees are shaken so much in order to make the mountain look as if it is moving around.
